WHAT IS BOTOX?

Botox or botulinum toxin therapy is a neuromodulator. When injected into specific areas of the face, it smooths out fine lines and wrinkles. Botox works extremely well on dynamic wrinkles, which are the lines and creases that occur from your facial expressions. 

Resto Health Medical Spa uses Botox® Cosmetic and Xeomin® for dynamic wrinkle treatments. Both neuromodulators work well when reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. 

Xeomin has fewer additives than Botox, which may prevent your body from developing antibodies against it. When your body develops antibodies towards anything, it becomes “immune” to it, making the treatment (in this case Botox) less effective.   

HOW DOES BOTOX WORK?

Botox blocks nerve signals to the injected muscle. That causes the muscle to weaken, preventing the facial expressions that cause the lines and creases. Over time, your skin relaxes, so the lines and wrinkles smooth out.

WHEN DO I SEE RESULTS FROM BOTOX?

You should notice an improvement in your appearance within three days after your Botox injections. But it may take up to two weeks until you see the full effects. 

Botox treatments are temporary and last three to six months. Resto Health Medical Spa recommends you schedule your next Botox appointment as soon as your lines and wrinkles reappear. 

Repeating your injections not only helps you maintain your youthful look but may prevent new wrinkles from forming.

WHAT CAUSES VISIBLE AGING?
